hey i usally like just using sand but is a 50/50 sand to dirt fine?

As the other person said, that is fine. It's also nice because the dirt will hold moisture better than just sand and often retaining moisture in the cage is a challenge, particularly with screen tops and lights and such. Of course sometimes you can have too much moisture too. If you really want to experiment and give your beardies something to do as well, give them a foot of dirt/sand and see how they behave...

If you do go with a dirt/sand mixture, be VERY careful that the dirt doesn't get wet, the dirt will hold the moisture, and under the warmth of a heat lamp for a beardie, this creates a warm and damp space, perfect for the growth of bacteria and mould, so just be careful about that.
