Request for Ridleyi Pics

Hurley Feb 13, 2005 05:08 PM

Hello,

I was wondering if you could be so kind as to post some pictures of Ridleyi? I am trying to get a feel for how much variation they have in coloration. Thanks to all who reply in advance!

I have a Ridleyi but it's just a baby so the he doesn't have the full coloring yet. From what I heard, Ridleyis have two major variations. One is from the Camaroon Heights area, I think, and they are more rare. The big distinction is that they are generally smaller and they have a yellow tail stripe. The other Ridleyi is larger with a white tail stripe. This is just what I remembered hearing so you might not want to fully take my word for it. You can also try the photo gallery and see if anyone has any pics. Try searching under the rat snake gallery "cave" or "ridleyi" Also this link is where I purchased my ridleyi so you can see some of the adults that they have. Hope this helps.

Wow, nice pair.

Does anyone know the inheritance/genetics of the white vs. yellow stripe? Is it always one or the other or if you breed them do you get a stripe color intermediate between the two?

Just curious at how much they vary or if there are two "phases" or what.

Thanks everyone for the pictures.
