lady_elbereth Feb 13, 2005 05:54 PM

My turtle has a very small ear abscess. Do I still have to go to get to a vet to treat it?

Yes, you will. The problem is they get bigger and will not
go away on their own. Had to treat one of mine many years
ago.

Please find a competent vet and get it taken care of. These
can be painful to the turt.

Hope this helps

It is an abcess that actually appears to be on the outside on the skin? Or is the area around the side of his head simply swollen?

It may be that the inner ear has filled with pus that will need to be drained.

either way he needs to go to the vet

good luck!
