If he's thirsty, let him drink.

i prefer to mist occasionally and offer romaine lettuce 4 times a week. too much water can be a bad thing if you are misting them too much, mold can occur in a warm, damp area, and I have seen it first hand with two beardies I rescued from a local animal shelter that were dropped off there in a 35 gallon aquarium with a misty-mountain volcano in it. the ENTIRE tank and both beardies were covered in mold. so i would recommend you feed more greens and mist occasionally.

If the dragon is drinking directly from the nozzle of the mister, let him drink. He's obviously very thirsty. Just dont mist the enclosure too often. I soak my dragons at least once a week. Mustard, turnip and collared greens are a much healthier source of moisture than romaine lettuce all the time.

two beardies in a 35 gallon aquarium with a misty-mountain volcano in it had more husbandry problems than just water in the tank

Bearded dragons in their natural enviroment live in humidity levels of 30%-70%, with the majority of the areas being in the 50%...look on any weather map in Australia for humidity level

They also are observed often swimming in ponds, lakes, river and even ditches. The beautiful reds come from a fairly damp area of the Erye basin and Lake Erie. Vitticeps come from the area that start at the southern shores near Adelaide, circling around Cooper Creek and Lake Eyre, up to the Alice Springs and Tennent Creek area and back down to the Nullarbor Plains area. Only the very north area is considered desert like and the humidity level there is still in the 30's peak afternoon to 55% mid morning.

One of the leading causes of illness in very young dragons is dehydrating, from people thinking these are desert creatures and treating them as such, they are big consumers of water.

Also, romaine is fine to get fluids into them on an emergency bases, but not a very good staple as a diet for a healthy dragon.. very empty of nutritional value
