help eggs agian

went to mist tonight and found one of my females laying in her nest box. SWEET
this nest box is just damp potting soil. im going to try and find this perilite vermiculite stuff tommorrow somewhere after work let me double check its a 1.1 ratio of each damp but not wet in a small plastic container.

do i poke any holes in thins contianer?
and i open it and re dampen it every 2 to 3 days right?

Remeber it's 1:1 by weight, not volume.

A good thing to do is weigh empty container, then Perlite/Vermiculite, and finally the water. Get a total combined weight and from that point on when checking for proper moisture (I do weekly), all you need to do is add water back to reach the original combined weight. I add the water and remix the substrate as some settling of the fluid and unevenness can develop over time.

But essentially the substrate just needs to be a little damp, just to the point that it will clump up. I grab a bit to check for clumping and squeeze it in my fingers to feel the moisture.
