Proper identification of candoia subspecies?

TempGuy Feb 13, 2005 07:16 PM

Hi all. I am planning on getting Candoia. I've been very frustrated by how they are classified. It seems like no one can tell what is what except by the skin pattern, and that is so variable that it doesn't seem a reliable way.

The trouble is, I am very specific and can only accept a snake that is a certain size and has certain needs.

How can I tell for sure what is what without using skin pattern? Or is it possible?

Having been all over the internet about this, I feel like there is idiot dust sprinkled like a veil of mystery on Candoia subspecies--in the real life pet market, it's 1,000% worse. I'm really frustrated but at least this forum seems like it might help.

Thanks,
TempGuy

I feel your pain dude...I've had my Candoia for almost a year now and I'm JUST NOW properly identifying them. What specifications do you need it to fit under? If I can help, I will
