NEVER get a w.c. bc they usalyy go on long prd of fasting if im right, you would need a 10 for a baly and like a 40 breeder for a full grown, a nice size hide so it can feel sucrure heat pad or liught ur choice i use lights really a bad mistake bc they always blow out and a pain in th @ss to keep paying 5 buck to change, go to goggle and type in care sheets for ball pythons, when you get one i would get the ball python maual, great book just came out wit an updated ver. where do you live, if you would like to by one not from me but at shows there are some really nice breeder out there will give u alot of info

hope this helps

I am also considering getting a ball python. The previous post was corect never get a w.c. python, it means wild caught. The snake was captured in the wild and therefore stressed and probally has wonderful parasites. It can also take a lot of effort to get it to eat pre-killed mice/feeders. Also never feed you ball live feeders. I know there are mixed opinions out there and its "cool" to watch a ball kill its meal, however the mice/feeders do fight back and can injure your snake. Most people recommend getting a c.b. [captive bred] snake that is already taking frozen/pre-killed mice to minimize the chances of a bad experience for the new owner. I also recommend getting some books, and checking out some websites [like reading lots of posts here] so that you can make everything perfect for your new arrival. My wife and I bought a Euromastix for my son without knowing what we were getting into, and unfortunatly he pasted away after a year. Broke my son's heart.

Hope this helps
