I'm going to be getting 3 male RES hatchlings and wanted to know when they're full grown will a 55 ga. tank be big enough for them?

No, that is not big enough, it would be large enough for maybe one adult male RES. I have two male RES in my 55 gallon tank now, but they aren't full grown yet.

Besides isn't it very hard to tell if they are all males when they are hatchlings? Try a pond for when they are bigger. Or a stock tank.

I'm actually getting 2. The place on the net I'm getting them from has where you can get only one sex if u want to..they only have 70% chance of being right but. I've decided to get 2 turtles....and with getting 2 I can't decide male or female so we'll see!!

Since you seem to have limited resources, you should try to get only males, if you decide you must still buy a slider.
