Is that seriously what the Hi-red ("extreme reds" look like as adults?

geckorex Feb 14, 2005 01:40 PM

Rainer funny you should say that, first she was sold as a female i hope that she is as i dont know how to sex snakes. But now that im done asking for help.............lol I bought her a couple yrs ago at the all ohio? all columbus some such show. the man who sold her to me said he got his breeders from you, he was the first to tell me about the pnutbutter brooksi. anyway when i bought her she showed almost no color, she was not an extreme red. She just ate alot and got alot of love...........when she was a couple ft she escaped her then tub and ran into my cat ghost( he is a big boy like freakish big cat)my future wife called me at work to tell me the cat got the snake i came home and there were over 60 holes in that snake, so after i cried we took her to the vet she gave mo some stuff to inject but6 i couldnt do it, she suggested injecting the mice to feed her. lol 60 holes and she is supposed to eat ever day to get the med.
SHE DID IT, the vet ended up not charging as she was "impressed" by her care................fey..........fate

do you think she is there yet/ i dont have a male of size yet

Wow, cool story and she looks no worse for the wear. Great care you have given her.

If the breeder got them from me and they did not exhibit high red as juvis then its probably from my Lemke line which I used to work with. It does look like a high red from Rick/Osborne line but if did not have that much red and the breeder says he got them from me then its probably a Lemke line. To bad you don't remember the breeder(?)

Also I would say she is boderline for breeding. I have bred brooksi that size and had low fertilty clutches. You possibly could try if she was cooled or you can still cool her now and get a male. Most people on here would advice you to wait until she gets a little bigger before breeding due to stress. My experience is if you feed them well after she lays and don't double clutch her you will be fine.
