Group Pic (Het Red Axanthic for Jared)

Corey Woods Feb 14, 2005 06:01 AM

I took this pic the other day (Saturday) while I was cleaning. I was going to post it but then decided not to. Here you go.

Starting bottom left and going clockwise. F3 Black Stripe, F2 Banded, SPOG, Het Red Axanthic (direct offspring from the Red Axanthic).

First off Corey, thanks for posting this for me.......

Question..............the Het Red Axanthics that are produced from the Homo Red Axanthic appear to have a more intricate pattern ( they look like thery have those little squiggley lines were the "e.t's" are in their pattern...........and the ones that are prouced from het red axanthics to normals dont seem to have em as much.......

Is it just me or have you noticed this aswell?

Jared

How long has the red azanthic been around? Has it been used in any cross morphings?
If it hasn’t in and of itself I don’t see anything to exciting about it! Seems to resemble normal ball pythons more than something spectacular. What is the price tag on this normal looking snake?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I hope you did read that the above picture is a heterozygous red axanthic.

I feel the homozygous form is much more aesthetically pleasing than any of the lines of regular axanthic. Again JMO

So if you don’t particularly like this morph, why are you concerned with the cost??

Corey beautiful animals

If you had read correctly we are reffering to the snake as a "HET" Red Axanthic..............this meaning that the snake is obviously a gene carrier.......now regardless of what it looks like......it will make a color/pattern morph.............just like simple recessive "Hets"........they look normal, yet when bred to each other will make a specific mutation............if he had posted a Het genetic stripe.........would you then say........"I dont see anythign special with this normal looking snake" No..........

Now if you dont know what a Het Red Axanthic is then ok........ask what defines this mutation from a normal snake.

It is so annoying to post on these forums nowadays..........you work hard on your projects..........then post em on here to share with everyone
( some of whom genuinely and eagerly await the posts because they cant wait til the day that they may actually get to own and breed these neat morphs) only to have some putz say that it looks like a normal snake or it is nothing......

Same thing happened to the Cinnamon pastels..........

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH............enough outta me.........back to the snake room i go.

NICE SNAKES COREY....!
