dwarf caiman

brad_j Jul 07, 2003 10:38 AM

Hello, this is my first time on this forum. I was wondering if anyone knows where dwarf caiman are sold? Also, any info would be helpful. I've always wanted a caiman, but I can't house one of full size, but a dwarf would be prefect, I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

you can often find caiman forsale on the classified section of this cite. but first be aware that dwarf caiman still get 4' to sometimes 6' in lenght. make sure you can give your caiman a big enough enclosure and that you have enough space to acomodate a full grown dwarf(they grow fast). good luck.

How fast do they grow. How long does it take for them to reach 3 feet?

i've heard many different thoughts on this. Some say a foot a year others say 4"-6" a year and other say in a month or two theirs have grown 6". deffinately the more you feed them and keep them on a good healthly diet the more they will grow to some degree. DO NOT starve your animal in hopes to keep it small.
This is what i have found after researching for quite some time. hope this helps.
