There are none in Cuba that I know of but the climate would probably support them. It does not get too cold and due to sea breezes and higher elevation in some areas it doesn't get overly hot for them. If some have ever been bred or escaped into the wild they could probably establish themselves there, so it could be possible. Just like the cuban tree frog is now found in Florida.

Could your freind be talking about a Cuban Knight Anole? Does he know the diference between an Anole and a old world chameleon?

He is probably refering to a lizard from the genus Chamaeleolis which is in the same family as typical anoles. they are native to Cuba and are often called cuban chameleons. One characteristic making them similar to true chameleons is that they have eye turrets that move independantly like those of chameleons.
