Yes I personally like the "normals" with nice color and pattern better than hypos etc.

Locality makes them even more interesting...
Here is my male pyro pyro. I've had him for 4 years and he's kind of a pain in the @$$ b/c he will only eat fresh killed mice...or very occasionally f/t when he's VERY hungry.

I finally got a little 2003 female from Norm Damn this fall, a very nice snake...prob. even nicer than this one, but she won't be ready to breed until spring 2006

Here's my female, she will only eat semi concious or fresly killed mice peiod. She will occasionally go off feed entirely for a month, and i have to bring her "back" with live hoppers.
But it's worth it. I love this gal.

I showed my male that picture and he's all excited and trying to breed with a stick in his cage.

...you're hooked now!
Nice little snake. I want mine to grow up quickly, but I really do like them as juveniles.

Zonatas are great. I don't know why people don't post more about them. It makes me think hardly anyone has any.

I've been trying to get some nice zonata for a year now...I hope to get a nice colletion of various subs going...but have found them very hard to get ahold of!

Good luck putting your group together, Dean. I have a pair of multifasciata and think they are very interesting, as well as one of the prettiest. I worry a little though about the legalities because CA only allows one per person for residents. I believe we can have two out of state, but not sure about the numbers.

Keep us posted on how you're doing with them. I'd like to learn a lot more. Mine seem to do very well in the dry weather.

Terry there were hundreds or more likely thousands of zonata legally exported from California before it was made illegal to sell them. If you have captive born decendents of those snakes there should be no reason to worry.

Thanks, Aaron. That makes a lot of sense
