Shedding Problem ... please help

ShadowDruid Feb 14, 2005 06:51 PM

Hey guys,

Okay a couple days ago I noticed my hatchling, Apollo, was starting to get light in colour, a whitish tinge to him. Then one morning I noticed his eyes had gone blue.. so I assumed he was going to start shedding. Then last night when I took him out for feeding his eyes were brown and he was kinda back to normal colour.

I looked everywhere to see if he had shed but I didn't see any skin anywhere. I have woodchips/shavings stuff as my substrate could it be under there ? I know he buries himself in it every once in a while... or should I try looking under everything ??

Or... could he just have kinda stopped his shedding process and have gone back to normal ? Is this even possible ?

Please help as soon as you can. Oh and yesterday he/she also ate 2 pinkies for the first time! yay! Thanks for all your help, and sorry about the long post!

After they go into "the blue" they will clear up and look almost normal and then three or four days later they will shed.

Don't be too shocked (or worried) if your snake regurges those pinkies. He may not, but some corns act strangely when they are about to shed, and some regurge their meals due to the stress involved. Just thought I'd forewarn you.

Good luck!
