My guess would be Everglades rat. Lots of these seem to be popping up lately, so why not? Very cool, by the way.

Looks like a very nice striped corn in my opinion, but I'm not too good with hybrids so it may be one of those, I dunno.

That looks like a motley/stripe corn to me. Is the belly the typical motely/stripe belly?

I was wondering how many people would say everglades rat, but thought I should stop playing around before I get people mad. It was the post below "corn vs. rat" that made my want to post this one I think he looks simular to the snake in that picture.

I like the quessing games but if you had said 13yo first we would have all know corn. I was gonna ask how old it was. My Everglades boy is maybe twice that size at 5yo.
And the striping didn't look right.
Nice corn.

How big is that anyway?

griffindor Feb 15, 2005 05:44 PM

I'm actualy his second owner I bought him from a guy who originaly purchased him from Kathy Love as a hatchling. Yes he still breeds or at least he did last year and is the horneist boy in my collection. I'm not kidding when I say this guy had erect hemipenes when I was lowering him into the females cage last year. Sonya- If your everglades is twice the size as this guy you may have the longest north american snake known to man. He is probably around 5 foot. Maybe my large hand is making him look smaller. I'm a big guy

Boy, you must be big! I thought he was pushing 5 ft.but didn't realize you had giant blood. I was refering mostly to his diameter as to my everglades comparing. I will try to get a fresh picture of my Everglades. He is 2.5#.....1147grams last week before eating. Haven't done length on him in a while but he was 5 ft last year so more now. When I post a pict you will have to remember that I am just a puny 140# woman.

I see your everglades rat is huge. sorry for kidding around with you. I really did think maybe people couldn't tell how big my corn was. also he just came out of brumation.

My everglades tends to get FAT in the winter. He is borderline now. I should see it coming and cut him back. I keep expecting him to stop eating like all the other boys. But he is a garbage can. In a few months he will thin down or lengthen out or both. He is only 4.5yo and I have had him since he was a ugly brown patchy pencil sized baby. Who'd have thought he'd turn out.
At least your corn is good weight. I tend more to ratsnakes lately. Since I can't have EVERYTHING, I have to chose.
