Photos at herp shows

Let me get your opinion on something.

Is it completely stupid/dorky/inappropriate/tacky to take pictures at a herp show? The last time I was at one, I saw a lot of really nice animals and I'd like to take my camera with me to one so I can get some pictures for possible future buys. I don't remember if I saw anyone else with one last time, and I know it's not some sort of "look at the cute little animals" pet store, so I don't want to take my camera if it's going to be looked down on.

Thoughts?

I don't think it would necessarily be a problem so long as you got permission from:

1. The show manager

2. Each animal's owner

Don't be too surprised if any or all of them say "No," but it wouldn't hurt to ask, especially if the shots were for a school project or something.

if somebody wants to photo my animals at a show. That is, unless they wanted me to open lids while I am really busy with customers. But if they just want to photo them through deli cups, or wait until I am not busy, then no problem.

I have taken pics at herp shows. I never had a problem. I do try to be sensitive to the fact that the vendors are there to meet and sell to customers and if there is a crowd around a table I will come back later.

I took a video camera to a show once, just so I could marvel at all the cool animals when I got home. I had one person coplain , I rewound the video and recorded over the shots of them. I had one guy at another table that was so nice as to hold each of his breeders he had on display up as he was putting them away at the end of the show so I could get them on camera. I almost forgot I have tables at shows sometimes and if I saw someone taking pics I would think it was cool lol. However in the future I will ask permision and would suggest that you do the same to avoid any trouble.
