Babies aren't so bad; adults can bite hard.

skinks come in all sizes, so their bites come in at all pain levels.
i've been nipped by five-lines, red-sideds, rainbows, etc. it doesn't really hurt, and is more comical than anything, sort of like a green anole bite.
however, my girlfriend, who is the real skink-person in the family, was bitten by our late adult monkey tail. there was moderate bleeding (should have been stitched), and she still claims a sensation deficiency to this day, over 6 months later. we have a 28" blue tongue that could almost certainly sever a pinky finger given the chance. fortunately, she's docile as can be.
