Sorry to flood the forum with so many pics, but call it newbie's excitement.

Zia ate four f/t pinkies for me this evening, with no trouble at all. I have to admit, I was a bit squeamish about the mice when I was defrosting them ("poor cute little mouse", but once I witnessed the amazing raw power and speed of even such a young boa... I've never seen an animal move so fast! I am completely thrilled and in awe. Now I can't wait to feed next week Keeping a snake is certainly more exciting and rewarding than I expected!! I am hooked.

Great photo! I have yet to take pics of Eve while eating. I keep forgetting!

Congrats on your new snaky by the way. She's gorgeous.

LOL.......You're hooked, there's no going back, you're screwed forever, it won't stop at just one.
A great husbandry practice for BRB and all snake species is to feed in a seperate container and not in their terrerium/set up. Down the road you don't want you BRB to have a feeding response or striking your hand when you take'em out.
Your experiences will only get better living with such a unique boa.
Enjoy,
Uncloudy

'Course it won't stop at just one! I've had a little "wishlist" that you could probably figure out pretty easily by sifting through all my old posts. I think a jungle carpet python may be my next acquisition, but only once Zia outgrows the cage she's currently in (gotta limit myself somehow!).

Yep, I'm picking up a rubbermaid tomorrow to feed in. I completely forgot about feeding seperately - oops! From now on, though, she'll feed out of her cage.

Thanks for commenting!
