Color Change

JAXONZRX Feb 15, 2005 06:17 AM

I there a general time frame when the color change starts? Like when the brown stripe starts to turn blue and, when a yellow baby starts to turn green. My Juyapura hatched Oct.04 and I was wondering if the change starts as a yearling or in the second or third year. I'm not in a hury for the change to start. I just haven't been able to find this documented anywhere.

Thanks,
David

There is no standard time frame. I've had animals start changing at 14 weeks old, and some that waited until they were 2.5 years old. I've had animals completely change from yellow to green with a blue stripe in as little as 4 days, and a 5 year old male that is still slowly changing. It's all due the the individual animal. Even animals from the same clutch will change on their own time schedult. Good luck with that little one.
