mushrooms grew in my tank!

has anyone ever had mushrooms grow in their tank? i have tank with 5 fbt and two days ago there were two 3 inch tall mushrooms. yesterday i got how and they grew twice as big and one has a huge cap on it. they are bright yellow and i am taking them out tonight. just wonderin why they are there. thanks.

I had them to. I didnt take them out well planted them in small clay pots with same soil. They lived long time and I loved the way they looked they got huge.
Than one summer they died . They got in your tank by either airborne spores that were in the air and wound up in there or spores from something you put in there like a piece of wood,etc.
I liked them thought they looked great and they were harmless. their spores are even found in store bought moss that isnt treated with chemicals.
