Are "Fly-sized" crickets (2 week old crix), the same as "Pinheads"?????

Linscubb Feb 15, 2005 11:10 AM

I just recently aquired a 4 week old beardie, I know fruit flies are an option, but I was wondering about the "pin-heads" and the "fly-sized" crix. Same thing? If not which is better?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Im pretty sure...but not positive...that pinheads are crix that are only a couple of days old. So fly-sized are older im sure. As far as which crickets are best for your beardie, i would probably go with pinheads for a four week old, but they grow fast, so the fly sized ones will be just right soon. As a rule of thumb the crix should be no bigger than the space between the lizards eyes. small crickets are MUCH more nutritious than fruit flies, which are basically just water, so i would go with them.

I tried to post some pics a while ago of my older beardie and I could not figure it out. Can anyone explain in detail for me? Please?
