Which is better for probing

justin stricklin Feb 15, 2005 11:14 AM

KY Jelly or petroleum? I am leaning toward KY but you know, when friends are over and they see a little bottle of KY, what would they think. I could put it in another bottle or something and escape embarrasment or something. I saw a Ky commercial last night and they are giving out free samples and I figure that would last me a long time for the probing. Which is better?

There are actually some concerns about petroleum jelly affecting sperm viability, so I would use KY or a similar store brand lubricant.

Be careful that those free samples aren't that new "warming" lotion that KY is advertising! That might be uncomfortable inside a hemipenis!

I'm on board with Chris here, as petroleum can create a haven for bacteria as well.
If you're embarrassed by the KY logo, just go to the pharmacy and get some surgical lube...

As mentioned by the other two posters, you definetely DON'T want to use petroleum. The most obvious reason though is that being oil-based it takes forever to break down and can cause matings to be infertile simply because of gumming up the works so to speak. You should definetely use KY or a no-name surgical lube. Or, you can simply use water - just run the probe under warm water for a couple seconds.
