Is this food okay....???

MissMiniZoo Feb 15, 2005 05:17 PM

I have 3 RES's and 1 Southern Painted that are all approximately 8 months old. Right now they are feeding on Reptomin, Collard Greens, & Turnips greens everyday. Occasionally I will give them small shrimp, grapes, strawberries, carrots, and other veggies and fruits. (They also have feeder guppies in the tank at all times...don't seem interested in them though as they overrun the tank and have to be removed and given to other people!!!)

My question: Are celery leaves an accetable/safe food for them? I can't find the info on the net.

It certainly wont hurt them any. I have given it to my guys once in awhile. It probably isnt very high in nutrients, but as long as it isnt an everyday staple it cant hurt.
