Green coloration completely lost

jeffreypeacock Feb 15, 2005 05:40 PM

When my baby carpet cham was younger, he use to exhibit this bright green to dark green coloration. Especially when he spotted food he turn really bright green. Now he has matured a bit, i'm starting to notice a hemipenal bulge and he is getting beautiful blue coloration around the ovals across his body and his turrets, but I havn't seen the green coloration since his shed about 2 weeks ago. Even when there is food present. I don't think its cause of stress because the setup has remained exactly the same with same care.

I don't know much about baby coloration in carpets, but it is possibly a natural change from baby color (really green to help them hide in foliage) to adolescent color. Adolescent chams often go through a duller phase before their hormones kick in as adults.
