I feed my ball python a frozen fuzzie this morning (I feed him every 3 days). I Put it in the same spot I usually do, he had his head over the mouse, touched it a few times with his tongue and then struck at the glass of the tank, I mean he went struck the glass like it was a live mouse. He didn't appear to be bleeding or injured, but of course I'm worried. He ate the mouse (he swallows them butt first), then as he had half the mouse in his mouth I could make out the mouses back foot on the bottom half of his jaw, as I watched my snake eat, I realized one of the mouses claws on the back foot actually pierced my snakes bottom jaw, I mean the claw was literally though my snakes skin. I didn't know what to do but my snake just popped his head up and continued swallowing, as he got the mouse further down the claw came out of his skin and he swallowed the mouse. I tried to pick him up (12 hours after eating) only because he's been hiding all day and I want to make sure his nose is okay and under his jaw (I'm also worried about him getting an infection where the claw broke through). My snake was extremly mean, I mean he tried to strike at me a few times, he is really not happy and I don't know if it's because he's in pain, he's never been aggressive like this before and I don't think it's because he recently ate, I've pet him before a few hours after he ate and he was fine. What do I do? I've also had problems with him before as far as how he eats, sometimes I wonder if he's stupid, I know it sounds mean, but he really is dumb.
