Pics of Thayeri Collection taken today

RussBates Feb 15, 2005 07:13 PM

You guys motivated me to take some recent pics tonight. Most of these are breeders or soon to be as in next summer. A couple are just hold backs from 2004.

the guys names is Mitch Allen and you can contact him at 504-887-3707. He's a very good guy. He had a booth in Daytona this year if you were there you may have seen him.

I really like the strong dark banding on the saddles. Nice clean good looking snake. Very nice!

Hello Mark,
How is that peach thayeri doing you got recently? Have you found a mate for it yet? Or should I say have you decided on what colored Thayeri to breed it too?
Post a recent pic when you get time. I like her a lot!

I haven't found her a pal yet but I will. I just got back from a trip to Colombia (of all places) so i've been out of pocket for a couple weeks. She just shed and she's looking for a mouse. I'll oblige her tomorrow. I'm in the FL panhandle for the whole month of March(taking a class) so I'll continue my search out there. There are a good variety of options in the SE. I'll bet I can find a good one.

He knocks up all the ladies in my snake room and is quite fertile year around. I keep him lean so he'll be a good sex machine

So that's were all the creamy clean offspring come from.
Great looking snake Russ.

Russ,
How many breeders to you have? What ratio?
And how many total thayeri in your collection?
I have noticed no one owns just one Thayeri.
They usually have many.
I have 2.3 Thayeri breeding this year and
a total of 9.9 in all.
I know I am male heavy, but some just look too good to sell!

Here is an Evan Stahl product I got by way of David Weymouth at Wasatch Reptiles (mountainkings.com) in Utah.

RussBates Feb 15, 2005 07:40 PM

In my collection I have 6.7

Actually breeding this year 2.5

Next summer I'll most likely try to trade some stock around to get more bloodlines to add to my colony.

That is always a good and fun idea. There is no telling what you can produce from some unkown line of Thayeri. Even the not so brilliant colored thayeri can throw awesome babies. I love that about thayeri and Mexicana in general.
