misting systems

bmelv24 Feb 15, 2005 08:15 PM

What is everyone out there using as misting systems? Right now I have a habba mist, but quickly realized that I need something else. What are the best systems out there and where can you get them?

Well, we've had questions like this before.

First, do you want something to raise the humidity, or to make the leaves develop droplets so the cham can drink?

second, how big is the cage. If you're using habba, which i don't suggest at all, then it must be pretty small?

Well, I was hoping to accomplish both of those things. RIght now he is in a 48X 24X 24 screen cage. I use the habba mist and hand spray as well.

Hi,

I just bought a Mr. Moisture. Today is the second day that I'm using it While it seems to perform well, the pump is louder than I would like. However, other than that, I am happy with it. I was lucky, because a local shop had it in stock and it hadn't sold in quite a while, so I was able to pick it up for $75--for that price, I am willing to put up with the noisy pump!

After doing some research, I have it narrowed to either a mr. moisture or big apple's misting system. If anyone has had experiences with these two, please let me know which one I should get.

there's a post at the bottom of the page, maybe now at the top of page two, the heading is humidifier. lele is a very well-known cham keeper and her husbandry and any cham related questions are always excellent. Here's a page she posted where she got her humidifier. There's more to the post.

"I use the Sunbeam which can be found here: http://www.sunbeamhealth.com/productdetail.asp?id=52 and I spent about $5 at home depot getting the pvc I needed. Here is a pic of the setup. You can go to the gallery and look under "lele" for more if you want." -lele

Hope ya find the one ya want.

Definitely buy the Mr. Moisture. I love the one I bought, and my cham likes it too. He'll move under it when it comes on. I bought the better timer too - very easy to use. But you can use the regular timer as well if you are trying to spend as little as possible. I bought mine from www.Wetworksms.com.

I bought a mister from Big Apple originally, and it wasn't as good.
I ended up selling it to a friend, and now he doesn't like it (I warned him). Hope this helps.
