My sister is getting two turtle and i think she should get a box turtle! they are good beginner turtles right? anyways, I NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING! i dont know a thing about them! like i need the temps, amount of water, do they need hides, how to tell males form females, etc.! i need everything! she is getting them on wednesday or thursday! we dont even have a tank yet! we dont even know where to get them for gosh sakes! lol please help fast!

if you can't keep it outdoors, don't consider getting a box turtle, it would not be an enjoyable pet for a beginner.
Mud, musk, and male painted turtles are all hardy, small, good choices for indoor living.
Read these forums for more, you'll find just about every question you can imagine has been asked repeatedly.
I'd recommend finding out how to care for them BEFORE you get them, and dont rush it....
