What to breed with my leo.

teamalpha1 Jul 07, 2003 12:55 PM

Hey everyone, I want to start to get into breeding and Im going to take leopard gecko breeding seriously. I want to have some nice colored offspring to sell.
Ok I have a high yellow female at the moment. I want to know what morph to get to breed to the high yellow. Any ideas?

Oh and the first breeder im getting cant be really exspensive, nothing above 125 to start off. I was think albino but Im not sure what that would do.

Yes i agree, it depends on what you want the offspring to look like but you can get a tangerine to breed with your high yellow if you want and have babies that are orange and yellow.

Well...if you breed most morphs to a high yellow, the babies will be high yellow or normal but het for whatever the other parent was. You won't be getting albino babies if you have an albino male, you will be getting normal/high yellow babies that carry the gene for albinoism. If you want specific morph babies, then get a male and female of that morph.

cloepatra... you said i would get normals/highyellows and some hets... what if i save 2 hets that o produce if i do and breed them what will that form? Would they have a chance of forming a nice solid morph thats nice?

Say you have a male albino and he has a daughter that is a normal het for albino. If you breed the daughter back to the father (or say, you breed her to her brother who is also a het) then you should get some normal het for albino, and some albino babies.
