Incubators, more...

Hi

I live outside USA and do not have ready access to Havabator and I’ve never seen one. I’ve been looking through several poultry incubators available locally yesterday, but they are all manual and there is no exact temperature control. What I mean is the thermostat has "high" and "low", but you can not set exact temperature. Would that be a suitable incubator for snake eggs? Does Hovabator have exact temperature thermostat?

Another question, when you have python eggs and corn snake eggs, each one has different incubation temperatures, how do you incubate them, in different incubators??

Thanks

Bird incubators will usually aim for a temp around 100 which is way too hot for reptile eggs.
If you can see the mechanisms you are looking for a themostat that has a wafer control. Looks like two metal disks in a small C clamp. These can be adjusted to exact temps. That is what you need.
Yes, I incubate rat/corn eggs in a different incubator than my python's eggs. Some just put rat/corn eggs on a warm shelf and let them be.

Thank you, Sonya.

I've always been incubating corn snake eggs on a warm shelf before . This time I am expecting some python eggs and more of corn snake eggs, so I think an incubator will be appropriate.

Would it make sense to order Hovabator from USA? Does it have an exact temperature control system? I've heard it's originally meant for poultry eggs...

Thanks.

Make sure you order something that is meant for reptiles. Big Apple or Bean Farm or someone. That way you know you are getting something adjustable away from the 100 bird temp. I did take mine and refit it to hold more by putting the top, with the heater and thermostat, over a larger foam box.
