Hi there, I hear ya on the long hours! I work from 7am to about6pm. I have 3 different timers going all day. The first is my light timer. It turns on at 7am and off at 8:30pm. Then I have my misting system (rain maker) set to go off at 7:30am, 11:30am, 3:30pm and 7:00pm in 10 minute sessions of very fine mist. I all so have a timer set on my humidifer, but I only use it if the nights are cold and I have to turn my heater in my house up, then I'll set it up the next day to help out with the dry air. I have to get up at 5am, takes me 1/2 hour to get myself ready, and about an hour to change water refill the dripers, which I have on a very slow drip and put food out for the chams and give them a little TLC. At night I come home and let them roam free and eat more for about an hour while I feed the crickets, and silkworms and put fresh veggies in the crickets and kingworm bins. I replenish my food for the feeders on the weekends I'll buy veggies on sunday and chop them up and have them ready to go for the week. The weekend is when "everyone" gets their "rooms" cleaned. I clean the cham cages, cricket cages, and the silkies get their rooms cleaned daily as they are pretty messy.
I would definately reccomend a misting system. I've had mine for about a year and a half and along with the timers it's made a world of difference and allowed me to stay not so crazy! Chams are a ton of work, but my motto is work smarter not harder! There is a plant store called the indoor garden here that sells the timers for half the price of what you would pay at a pet store. Not sure if you can find something like that where you live but it can save you some money.
