Iguana age???

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a basic standard for telling an Iguana's age. I understand that there are variables, but I am curious.

For instance, mine is about 8" SVL. He/she has a nice body, colors, spikes and all. Is there a standard for guesstimating how hold he/she is???

I got him from a pet store and they did not know exactly. the previous owner took it to the pet store because they could not care for it anymore. They did not give the pet store any further infromation on him/her.
