branches

does anyone collect their own branches for decoration and basking spot? i kno u have to do some stuff to the collected branches but i dont kno exactly what. what steps to making the right branches? plz reply. i dont want to go out and buy a 20 dollar stick when i got some in my backyard . ty

Pick branches that don't have sap on them. Ideally ones with no bark like the driftwood you can find at the beach works really well.

Make sure you sterlize anything before putting it in your tank. The easiest way i have found to do this is wrap the wood in tinfoil and cook it in the oven on say...350degrees...for about 10-15 minutes. This should kill anything thats on there.
