zilla and goldfroggy

hemingway Feb 16, 2005 02:20 PM

Hi there. One question has been nagging at me, and I'm hoping that some of the more sage and connected members of this board might be able to help me out. I have a zilla/goldfroggy descendent out of Chris Allen's stock, and I have seen the lineage pop up quite a bit in the classifieds. I'm assuming that these are foundation stock animals, but I really don't know anything about them. Is there anybody here who can fill in the blanks for me about the identity of the mythic Zilla and Goldfroggy? If there are any pics around, I would love to see those too. Thanks so much in advance.

Kris

Give me a few minutes and I will dig in my old computer for this info and the photos of the original Godzilla and Goldfroggy.

Godzilla was a wonderful male that was actually a rescue, a dull color. Once he got good care, diet, temps and UVB, he shed into the most lovely golds. Personally I think he resembles many of the dragons from Kevin Dunne of Dragon's Den Herp's earlier Sunburst line dragons. He also grew to a remarkable good size which is more common in Kevin's lines than many other breeders of the golds, or sunburst.

Godzilla is very hearty, despite his early on care, just good genetics there. Godzilla is still alive, but an old man and is doing educational programs in California.

Goldfroggy was the female of the line, another beautiful dragon with high golds and some orange, she had prominent eye sockets, hence the name Goldfroggy.

Many of the larger size, colorful dragons around today, came from this line, breed into other lines like the Flame one or JoelR's line.

He was only breed for a few years and as far as I remember only two females, Goldfroggy and a pastel female.
