A "cricket frog"? Thanks for telling me about those. I hadn't heard of them. But my brief research tells me they are N. American, and they don't have the consipicous toa pads this frog has. Since I saw it in the wild in Thailand (well, outside a porta-john in the mountains, near the head of a trail), it's pretty much gotta be a Thai frog.
I'm going back to Thailand soon, and I'd love to catch a few of these and keep 'em for a while, study them, document them, but, Thailand has a lot of poisonous snakes, including cobras and banded krates and other goodies that I might find as well.
Yesterday I looked at all the frog pictures in the frog photo archives here (great stuff), and I think the Mossy Frog of Vietnam looks like it might be in teh same general family. Next time I go to Thailand I'll see if I can track down a Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians, if one exists. I seem to remember seeing some books on flora and fauna…
