Question about outdoor turtle ponds

clknut1 Feb 16, 2005 07:13 PM

I am looking to purchase an outdoor above ground turtle pond to put on my lanai in Florida. I am looking for something that is not intended to be dug into the ground, preferably cement. Any suggestions on where I might find such a thing?

I have a molded plastic pond... it holds about 125 Gallons and was like $75 at home depot. i think they're supposed to be put in the ground but i have it sitting on the floor of my turtle room. If you cant find anything that you really like, you might want to consider looking into that

You can also try a large farm supply story, like Tractor Supply Store. They have all kinds of plastic containers for feed, watering, etc. live stock that work very well.

You could always build a brick wall around it or a decorative wood frame.

There are a million concrete step and outdoor household component dealers in Florida (thanks to ther termite problem). You might ask one of them. Whatever you decide on, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER underestimate the climbing abilities of your turtles.
