My female should be laying eggs any day now. I am kinda nervous. Any quick tips for the eggs. I plan on using vermiculite. Is that good. Any advise is welcome.

This will be fun and exciting! Enjoy. One issue I've had in the past is when they lay the eggs directly over the heat tape. I'm always concerned about cooking the eggs. It's never happened so far. Normally my heat is shut off in the evening and I can get to the eggs early in the morning before the heat turns on. Also, if the eggs are stuck together, don't try to pull them apart or rotate them.

Above all, enjoy!

That is one of my concerns... female laying her eggs over the heat area. Do you think if a box is provided in the cooler area, the female would be likely to crawl in and lay her eggs there? Any thoughts or other suggestions?

I'm not sure. I don't use a box nor have I ever used one. Maybe someone else can help you there. My snakes typically lay in the late evening to early morning time frame. That's a period of no heat. So in the AM, if I find eggs I remove them before the heat kicks in.
