CAN I SPRAY AFTER THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND LEAVE THE COOL MIST HUMIDIFIER RUNNING FOR 15 MINUTES EVERY HOUR ALL NIGHT. I suppose I should first ask why the room stays so warm. Is it the temp setting on your home thermostat? The weather? Other herp heat sources in the same room? That might help us figure out how to cool your cham off better. If your whole house is heated to the 70's at night you are going to have to cool that one room off somehow by turning the house heat down at night or closing a heat vent to the room. If your weather is that warm you may need an air conditioner for that one room. This is winter...what will happen in summer? It could be much worse. If you have other herp heat sources in the room maybe you'll need to move the cage. As for other ways to cool, sure you can mist in the evening, run a small fan across the top of the cage to allow evaporative cooling, and run a fogger on and off. Just be sure to let the perches dry at some time every 24 hours so you don't end up with molds and bacterial growth. You may find that trying to keep a jax in your particular location is going to be very complicated.

I keep my cham in the basement and the furnice is on. this week it is really cold so i have to keep the house warm. last week we were in the 60 so down stairs was cool.i keep him downstairs because there is no traffic and my 2 boxers will not stress him.thanks matt

Some words of caution, Matt...

If you live in a fairly northerly climate, and I would not leave
the window open or run a fan on a damp chameleon this time of
year. I have heard of several chameleons that came down
with respiratory problems and developed fungal infections from
being kept in a chilly damp air in a northerly climate in the
winter. Its different for someone who lives
in a warm climate. Just my two cents worth.
