k, i looked up Amboasary Gara, and really couldnt find much. from what i could figure out from the location of amboasary (http://www.indexmundi.com/z/?lat=-21.5833333&lon=47.5&t=m&r=80&p=amboasary&cc=ma&c=madagascar) it seems to lie somewhere near Fianarantsoa or even Ambohimahasoa. checking back with the uroplatus book, that puts us most likely in east coastal forest. that also puts us right on the border of the eastern climatic zone and the central climatic zone. im seeing us around the 21 degree south by 47 degrees east zone. the book says the eastern zone is characterized by relatively high humidity year-round, while the central zone tends to be dry in the winter. let me know if anyone else can figure anything out about these guys, i wanna find out the climate for pietschmanni!!
I talked to Bill Love (the guy who takes people on trips to Madagascar) and he says he saw them in the wild just right outside of Tana, the captital of Madagascar.
