article on cyclura.com of usa today visits J.F. That's a pair of nice enclosures ! Joel, Did you spring for the UVT glass ?

with summer here I can put it off cuz the windows are open. a lot of $$ whenever I decide to.

Be careful where you place it. Although rhinos don't normally break glass, I have had a male run-though it to get at a challenging male. I have used plexiglass UVT on a roof once, it yellowed after 5 years, and I would not recommend it.

I have heavy wire screen between my males and the bottom 18" wood as a visual barrier. All my glass is on the sides. I wondered about uvt in my skylights. I looked for that plex that passes uv but they dont make skylights out of it as far as I have looked.
My big problem now is the mole under the slab for the green house! I emailed you a while back, I guess I am caught up after reading the post to jif.
talk soon

According to AJ of IIS, her contractor installed some uvt skylights for her iguana rehab, but did not know the specifics. If you find a uvt skylight, I would be interested. My old emails are toast, but jaristei@yahoo.com is still good. Thanks, John

Hi, I know AJ and have seen the skylights. They are not a commercial skylight. She bought a 4x8 piece of the uvt stuff and he made a big picture window out of it and put in a couple of permanent (non-moveable) skylights in another room. I really dont know how they are attached in teh roof/ceiling at all but they seem water tight but you cannot open them or the picture window.

If she bought a 4x8, sounds like acylic verses regular glass. Custom made ? Wonder how it holds up when there is 2 ft of snow outside, and on the roof ?
