ive been thinking about getting one. ive looked at page after page on ebay. does any one have any recomendations as to what works well for gecko eggs. leopard geckos as well as rhacs? ( different times)

i like the models that stand upwards and have vision doors of course im poor and they are far more money than the smaller hova bators ect. but just curious what works for you?
Thanks
Dave

You don't need an incubator for Rhac eggs. Room temp works just fine.

If you need one for Leopards, a Hovabator will work just fine, but you won't be able to incubate Rhac eggs in the same incubator.

Crested eggs don't need heat to incubate; so an extravagant incubator isn't necessary. A shelf in a room with stable to mildly fluctuating temps in the mid-70s will do fine.

For eggs that do need more heat than room temps provide, old fridges are great.

. . . I have a rack holding a few leos, and some snakes - so I just use the temp gun - find a spot that's 78 degrees - and put the eggs there in a deli 1/2 full of moistened vermiculite.

Wala

AC is right - you can do it room temp. If you want to spend money - get the temp gun - because they are fun.

(How many of you checked the temp of your mouth?)

ya those temp guns are cool, we had an expensive one at work, pointed it at the sun and got it up to 650 degrees. we were taking peoples temps from like 300 yards

I use a hovabator for my crested eggs (the eggs are in a gladware container) and it seems to be working great!!!!
