The burgundy ball python................

bigdee Feb 17, 2005 07:25 PM

Its looks to me like this is something new. Are they just a normal ball or is it something worth breeding? Im also hearing about proving them out so could these snakes actually look just alike and some be genetic and some not? What do you get if you breed a burgundy to a norm? I have someone thats going to sell a 800 gram male I think its LTC for $200 and then a breeder(D&M) who said he will sell me a 04 het for burgandy for $350 , whats going on with such a price difference. Is this an actuall morph worth starting a project or not. Thanks for all your help

They aren't new at all actually. A burgundy is actually a ghost. There are proven lines that are co-dom and recessive. Burgundy to normal would be "hets" then again you really can't sell hets if the morph isn't proven. Proven burgundy hets sell for MUCH more. My female burgundy has been breeding a cinny pastel. Who knows, a year down the road I could have cinnyburgs!

No idea...either way would be a neat colored snake! I'm really looking forward to the end result of this project!
