I think they are Suriname's or wait.... are they Guyanan's? Maybe a Cross?
Actually now they are Arizonan's, so now we have Jaguars and Leopards here... well sort of!
Enjoy,

I love Leopards and truly enjoy my pair. Besides being cool to look at, with their poppy black button eyes, they have neat little personalities.....and a degree of curiosity I don't see in my Colombians. It's always amusing watching them attack a f/t rat with such gusto, hissing and animation. I think they "stay" hungry

Just like Linda, I love my leopard boas. I can't wait to see all the combos that are going to be made with the leopards in the coming years. Best of luck with yours. Take care!
Paul
.
Your leopards are beautiful. I hope to have atleast a little leopard male in the future.

Some people that have them...Mike W.(Basically Boas), John Martino(John Michael Reptiles), Russ L., Linda H., Brandon obviously, Bells, Mike P.(MNR), Barkers(VPI), Tom and Amanda Burke, Pete Kahl, Dragon Herp(Sig International), Jeremy Stone, Chris(giantkeeper) had atleast one, Stan Chiras had atleast one, H.J. Winner-LOTS OF EM' LOL, and myself. I'm sure there's more, this is what I could recall off the top of my head. I think Dragon Herp is the only one in the U.S. to produce leopards so far(03'), Pete and Jeremy I think produced Leop. x T Pos. hets, Mike produced Triple hets(Leopard x Ghost). I think Mike P. bred Albino x Leopard this year, so we may see dh albino leopards soon. I'm sure there's more going on than I can tell you, but this should help you a little bit with knowing whats out there. I'd definitely recommend getting one when you get a chance. Take care
Paul
By the way, Nice Leopards Brandon. You'll love them. They are awesome animals.
Paul, I bought Hans out of the Leopards in 2002 and 2003. Pete Kahl and I split the 2003 stock. I got over 20 both years with a few hets. I sold them to quite a few people in the States that you didn't mention and I did export a few others. There are a few in Canada too. Two different people you didn't mention purchased a package of 2.3 from 02, so maybe they will be producing next year. (I don't know if they want me to mention them so I won't).
I was lucky enough to get a litter here of Leopard X T positives this year. Pete and I split the CA Motley X T positive,(Petes CA Motley female X My Male T positive), but the Leopard was my breeding and I had a very small litter, but they are awesome animals. As far as the Producers of the Leopards here in the US, you got all the names correct, but there is also a small breeder in AR who produced a small group of Leopards from Leopard to Het this year too. He and Dragon Herp are the only 2 that have actually produced LEOPARDS to the best of my knowledge but there may be a few others.
The question as to how many is kindof hard. I have kept a Lot back and have a group of 18 Leopards from 2002 and 2003, and a few hets. I also bought a pair of 2001's back then too, and that female was the one who produced the DH Leopard T positives. I know Pete Kept a nice group of them too. I think the Leopard is one of the coolest Morphs. They are a lot of fun to work with because they vary soo much. They are also VERY HARDY. You have to be very careful with the Babies because they can be a little tricky, but you just have to be responsible in the way you feed them.
I think the Leopards are going to maintain the price they are at for a VERY long time. They are priced quite "Cheap" if you ask me, and I think there are many more buyers in that 1500 to 2K range, and with all the new things you can do with them, I think they will be a Major player. There are many things I would love to see in that Leopard pattern and color. So even though there are some good numbers of leopards out there, They are still a great buy. Hans has some INCREDIBLE animals. He has pictures in Daytona of some of his hold backs. They are AWESOME. Of course he keeps the best for himself. I bet he could pull out a few that would make us Boa lovers Salivate. lol
I hope everything is going well with that guy you got from me, and best of luck in your breedings.
Jeremy
I'm glad you replied. You definitely have a better idea of who has them than I do...especially since a lot of people probably bought them from you-LOL! Glad to hear someone else produced some Leopards, hadn't heard about that until now. That male I picked up from you is doing great, he's a bit over 4' now and looking better all the time...which has really surprised me. And you know I agree that they're "Cheap". In reality 1500-2000 for a snake isn't necessarily "cheap", but for what they are, and what little has been done with them as far as crossing them into the other morphs, I don't think you can go wrong picking some up at that type of price. Sorry if I mixed up on the breedings, I thought you and Pete had done that together, my mistake. Well, gotta run, take care!
Paul
I am glad to hear that several people are working with them here in the States. Means more chances to see great combo's alot sooner.. I also agree the price tag on these guys is insanely great I wouldn't have been surprised to see them around 5k and stay that high with the potential they show..
Thanks again for the responses

Could you please explain what you meant by the babies are a bit tricky?
Thanks,
Matt
The Babies Can be a Bit tricky. I have noticed that "MOST" people when they buy a mutation over the 1K mark, they really want to breed it as FAST as they can. That means trying to raise them up quickly. Baby Sonorans (which is what the leopards are) are easy to get going if you take a responsible approach. I have found that when you feed them a small meal every week, that they really do well. I have been guilty of trying to raise them up a little fast and when I have done so, I have had them Reguritate. Once they regurgitate, if you aren't VERY CAREFUL, you can get them into a big pattern of regurging, and that can make you loose your baby faster then anything.
Not only should you feed them once a week, but also pick a prey item such as a smaller mouse that really won't be too much of a trouble for the young boa to digest. You'd be suprised how fast they do grow with a smaller prey item only once a week. Pretty soon you can tell they are very capable of then feeding them more often and raising them to a nice size or adequate size of breeding in a good amount of time.
Leopards (Sonoran Boas) are tricky because they have a VERY STRONG feeding response unlike many other smaller Imperators. So they are tricky because when you open the box, they are looking for food even in a few days after they have just been fed. So, you think that they are hungry and you can feed them again, and BANG, GURGE. That is why they are a little tricky. They have EXCELLENT feeding responses.
Hope this Helps. Take Care, Jeremy
I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I too have a few Leopards. I have two 03' males. One directly from Hans and one from Hans via Jeremy. Both are amazing and truely some of my favorite boas that I own. As Jeremy said they have an amazing feeding response as I found out the hard way with my first little guy. The hard way meaning he gurged when I first got him but after giving him a little time off and a smaller meal and not trying to power feed him he came around quick. They are both at 18 months and one is courting really well, while the other is at least a year away. I've got him in with a Sharp female right now and am hoping for an amazing litter.
Leopards are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
