I don;t know if I changed something accidently but when I upload photo to My Documents and then try and delte from memory card it say something like image can't be deleted protected. How the heck do I do it?
First time it's happened so may be my doing.
Any idea would be appreciated.

You may be trying to delete on of the system files on the card which is protected.
There are two easy solutions -
1. delete the image files one at a time, or only delete the jpg files (assuming that's what you shot). Leave any other files on the card.
2. Delete them using the camera. If you want to get rid of all of them, just put the card in the camera and format it again.
