Anybody seen one of these containers before?

bugmamma Feb 18, 2005 09:40 AM

The lady I get my rat pups from had this lying about and I just had to pick it up. It looks like it's been around a long time, but I thought it would look really cool to put some juveniles in... It's twelve inches high not counting the base and 14 inches in diameter. There's quite a bit of space inside! It's supposed to be a goldfish bowl according to the label. The base of the thing is hollow in the center, so there's a well around 3 inches deep and 5 inches in diameter in the bottom of it. I'm not sure just how I'm going to outfit this thing yet, and I was wondering if anybody out there had one or had any ideas?

I actually kept my very first two Crested Geckos in one just like that. I think it's still lying around somewhere.

I just put lots of artificial foliage (as shown in the photo) in there and they did great....and it looked good too.

Thanks for the reply, Anthony. Hey - How is that stuff you've got in the bottom of the container in the pic you posted above working out for you? Are you by any chance going to be selling it?

I have to tell you that I am just DYING for the weather to get warm enough for you to ship to me - nighttime temps here won't be over 40 'til LATE APRIL... ARGH!

If I recall - they discontinued making that particular keeper. I almost bought an armload full at a huge discounted price - but was wondering - how would I stack them.

They do look cool, that's for sure.

Hagen, the manufacturer of the kritter keeper still makes those, actually. It's the A-1517 Fin Pals - Extra Large. If you go to www.hagen.com you can find it under aquatic products.
