No on the lady bugs. Superworms will do if you have nothing else available and they are dusted with a good quality vitamin/mineral supplement and fed high quality foods themselves. Not recommended for babies unless you cut the hard heads off. Crickets, likewise. *Farmed* roaches and silkworms are good staples and can be mail-ordered in quantity. Meal worms are a no-no as a staple. Lightning bugs and box elder bugs are toxic in any quantity. Wax worms are good food for fragile digestive systems and appetites and also make good treats. Please don't feed just any available insect or worm to your lizard! Not all insects or grub are safe to eat or nutritious and some are deadly in any quantity. Stick to known and widely available commercial offerings. You can also raise your own feeder insects from an initial colony of commercially aquired worms. You can also raise live prey-free beardies as long as you are careful to replace it with high-quality and high-protein pellets.
