Where are the belly shots?

Alice
LOL, I actually tried SO HARD to get belly shots, to no avail. Maybe one day, it doesn't matter though, all southern ringneck snakes have the same ventral pattern, except for the occasional specimen with 1 spot every 2 ventral scales.

What is the ground color on the bellies?
The Monerey ringnecks that we've got here have bright red-orange bellies. When the get excited, they like to flip over and coil up the last quarter of their body to show off their colors. I've read that the coral-bellied forms of southern ringneck will do this too.

Their bellies are yellow, leading to either orange or red.
You should hook me up with a few ringnecks.

In California, it's illegal to export native herps. But, you're allowed to collect two ringnecks with a fishing license. If you're ever out this way, I can give you some locations to check.
