I have had this gal since the beginning! She will be 3 years old this summer!I wasnt hapy with the picture quality when I started posting pitures over a year ago so I never took none of her!She has a beauty all of her own!She is a fairly dark girl with alot of speckling!I am not sure if she is columbian, central american,or a cross between the two boa's!Her belly is all speckled up like alot of hets are but I don't know that she is!These pics here aren't the best in the world but she wouldnt pose for me,lol! An at eleven pounds she is doing awsome at getting ready for this fall!An before I decide what male to put with her I figured I would get a few opinions on her!An she also has a ladder tail going on for her dark self! Thanks ahead of time for any an all opinions!Eric[Hypoboa] Sorry for the length of this post but this female has had me wondering for almost 2 years now an I would love to hear your all's thought's on her! Thanks Eric!

Well, any healthy Boa is an awesome animal to have. As far as opinions on speckling in acoordance with being a het trait? -- well I think there is about 1 speckled het for every 100 speckled normals. This is not a scientific number of course, but I don't personally see this to be a het "trait", but rather a BCI trait that is carried by both normals , and hets for anything. Selective breeding has reduced these characteristics as well as color enhancing.
I've owned 5 het for albinos, and only one had a good amount of speckling, most just happened to be some of the best "normal" looking boas that I've had. I think there is a certain characteristic to look for in hets as some have stated, I don't know what it is though. I wish that I did know, but I don't think that it's speckling.
This is just my personal, small-time breeder opinion. You'll only get a solid answer by doing the breeding trials. If I were you, I'd sell off some of the babies that you just had and get an Albino male (from me in about a month . . haha) and breed it to her. At the least you'll produce all hets.

Hi Eric,
She looks like a nice Northern Colombian to me, possibly a southeren central american, but I lean more towards the Colombian side of things. here marking are very similar to my big 10' Colombian Gal. She will make a great breeder for you I am sure.
Thanks
