Hello there,

I live in Apple Valley, I know of some good spots, shoot me an e-mail and I'll be happy to let you know about 'em, maybe even team herp if you want......heh. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon, as there aren't a lot of herpers around these parts...=)

regards,
-Phil

hmmm.

Nice Sidewinder, man. I didn't realize stuff was active other than Pacific Tree frogs right now. also, I guess I didn't realize just how many herpers there are this way. Fine by me, I won't complain. =) I hope to actually get out and meet you all though. Its more fun when you herp with people who know what a Phrynosoma platyrhinos is, or a Crotalus cerastes, than trying to teach a friend it. Yep, a lot of blank stares I've had in my day. heh. Heres to a great start of the herping season, all the way through.

regards,
-Phil

I searched for cerastes all last year, nothing. Where did you find this one? I live in Lancaster, the closer to home, the better.

There are loads of great spots out there. If there are Joshua trees still left in your neighborhood, you could quite possible turn up a Desert Spiny Lizard or Night Lizard. The jumble rock outcrops just before Barstow is full of geckos, chuckwallas, rosy, and even Crotaphytus. The Mojave River has some toads and Bullfrogs. You could even hit up the desert slope of the San Gabriel or San Bernardino Mountains. There are some awesome streams coming down from those mountains.

Good, luck and keep us post of what urns up.
