Newby's Breeding Question

claret Feb 18, 2005 09:36 PM

I have a beginners question, it may seem dumb. Are there rules for mating leos? I breed dogs and know the rules for that. Can you breed any leo to another? Are there in-breeding complications?

There are no set rules for breeding leos.... Infact, all you need to do is put them together.... As far as inbreeding goes, you will not see any complications for many generations..... Most of the linebred animals you see like tangs and carrottails have been inbred for a long time with hardly any outcrossing.... Some of the better breeders outcross their line a bit after a few generations of inbreeding.... And some prefer to inbreed as little as posssible...
